Activity: Book Designing
Commentary: Today I did a tremendous amount of work!
I thought of a title and created a cover.
I created a table of contents designed to look like a newspaper front page, completely from scratch using only Microsoft Word.
I wrote an opening, closing, and copyright page.
I organized my articles together.
I made much progress and I am 95% done with my product.

Activity: Writing and Editing Locks of Love Article
Commentary: Today, I wrote the article for Clare’s Locks of Love Event. I had to research about the organization and what the mission of the company was. Then, I had to correspond with her about what her goals for her project were and get all of the details. Then, I had to write it. After all of that, I edited it down to size and sent it out.

Activity: Locks of Love Event
Commentary: Today was my friend Clare’s event for her senior project, donating her hair to Locks of Love. For my senior project, I wanted to try a different style for each article. My first article was very factual and scientific. The second one was very emotional. For this piece, I wanted to do something light hearted and positive. This was short and informative.

Activity: Meeting with Project Facilitator
Commentary: Today, I discussed with my project facilitator everything that has occured recently. It does not look like it is going to work out that I will be able to write about the boy from my school who is addressing the State Board. With the change that occured at the state senate, and him not having a clear date he will be able to present combined with me having deadlines, the article seems doubtful. After talking with my project facilitator, I have decided to interview my new principal, Dr. Weir, about his new position for my next article. Mr. Sebring left for a position in the county office, and I think parents of current and future students would like to read about the change in administration. I e-mailed him to ask permission and he is ready for the interview.
